Dear advisor,
I have a well-kept 2013 Mazda Verisa (70,000 km) that uses a popular brand of 0W-20 synthetic oil. The engine is smooth and responsive. The car is garaged and driven two or three times a week, covering about 10 km in 20 minutes on each trip. This makes the mileage about 1,040 to 1,560 km every 6 months. At 6 months, the oil still looks clean but is just a bit darker than when new.
In such a case, is it safe to change the oil once a year? It seems quite a waste of money and engine oil to change
oil every 6 months. Kindly advise. Thanks :)

Hi there,
It is common practise to service a vehicle once a year under general use conditions. So 6 month oil changes could be a bit excessive in your case.
