Hi i have a 2017 forester with CVT , i'm looking to tow a caravan weighted 1000kg loaded , i've read many articles warning about CVT towing could damage transmission etc.
Can you advise if it's save? replacing transmission could be very expensive.
Some folks advise adding transmission cooler but i believe i already have a factory one.

Subaru transmissions have generally been pretty good and the manufacturer has specified unbraked tow ratings of 750kg and braked trailers of 1,500kg+ depending on model. Maybe speak with a transmission specialist and see if they have any recommendations based of past experience.
