Hi,
My Toyota Isis plantana 2006 has just completed 100000 kms. Mechanic has asked to change transmission fluid according to him it's recommended every 90000kms. I need to ask following;
1. How can I check if it's ready to changed because the vehicle was imported at 84000 km, I don't know if at that time it was changed or not.
2. CVT fluid the mechanic showed me was costing 180$ for 4lt metal CAN, he asked for 220 for the change. But on Repco I can get CVT oil for 80$/4lt. Whats the difference.

Hi there,
Servicing is often an unknown in vehicles from Japan and it's quite common that the servicing wouldn't have been carried out as the vehicle was destined for export anyway and so not worth the owners spending money un-necessarily. So if in doubt best to have it replaced for your own piece of mind. There are many types of fluid and quality, some transmissions require a better fluid and it's not cheap, but is better than trying to fix shuddering issues or a damaged transmission.

Thanks, can you check and let me know how much fluid will the vehicle require? Will 4lt be enough or I need more?

Hi there,
As the vehicle is an import, specs are unavailable- but it is usual for a conventional transmission service to use 8ltrs, not sure if CVT are any different.
