Hi expert! I hope you don’t mind to give me your opinion.
2 weeks ago, my 2007 Nissan Presage top tank radiator snapped, hence the engine overheated. Got it rebuilt the radiator (replace top & bottom tanks), replaced thermostats, refill new coolant and reset engine light. Running fine.
After 3 days using the cars, in the evening the engine won’t start. Cut story short, replaced 4 new spark plugs (found oil in the cylinder 2 out of 4) and 2 days later found the real issue —> blown gasket.
I bought the car in 2013, currently do 187,000 kms. I noticed also need new 4 tyres. Quoted approximately to fix between $1500-2000. Is it worth to repair the gasket or time for a new car? Thanks so much for your advice in advance.

Hi there,
This is a tricky one- it looks like the vehicle in a going condition is valued at around $3,500-$4,000 and not going could be only worth $500-$1,000. However if you have to spend almost $3k on repairs, it may be worth spending this on another vehicle with lower km's, especially if you are already thinking of upgrading. There is a fine line between the repairs exceeding the economic value of the vehicle.
