I recently bouught a brand new Subaru XV, having previously owned a 2015 Subaru Impreza (from new). I have noticed that the XV has a problem with the CVT (I think), in that it hesitates to find a gear especially at low speed. I have taken it back to the dealer who has told me that it is a common fault which I will have to live with. I asked why my previous Subaru drove seamlessly, and this new one didn't. He said there was a weight difference in the 2 vehicles. I do not buy this explanation for a second, and feel like I have just been fobbed off by the dealership. Can you please offer some advice, and what avenues I could take from here.

Hi there,
It can be a little tricky when a vehicle operates differently from what you would expect. Sometimes differences can be classed as "inherent characteristics of the vehicle".
If the dealer has admitted there is a fault and it can't be remedied- then you might need to ask what are they prepared to do about it and if a replacement vehicle or refund is an option.
