Hi, I am considering buying a 2013 Nissan Leaf. However I have just become aware of the potential life threatening brake problems with all models from late 2012 to 2015 caused by a firmware issue. Although only 5 reported issues in NZ to date there appears to be no fix. I am left wondering how safe these vehicles actually are and if it is worth the gamble of purchasing. Would appreciate advice on what the AA knows about this issue and what to do if it occurs.
