I'm looking at buying a second hand 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander, however it has done 228,000 kms - I was wondering how many kms this model typically lasts for before serious repairs need to be done, and whether I'm better off buying a model that has traveled less kms. Thanks!

It's hard to know exactly how many km's a vehicle can do, it would depend on its treatment and servicing really. Generally a newer vehicle that has done higher km's quickly would last longer the an old age and high mileage combination. The benefit of this is that the vehicle has better tech and safety items at a more affordable price than otherwise would have been achievable.
