I have a 12 years old Subaru legacy which needs new tyres. I have been given 2 quotes, if for Firestone2700 at 161$ per tyre and another for Goodride RP28 at 98$ per tyre. I've tried looking on line for reviews etc but can't find anything definitive. I'd like to know which would be the better tyre. I'm happy to be the considerable extra for the Firestone but ONLY if they are significantly better than the Goodrides. Any help appreciated.

Hi there,
With tyres you generally get what you pay for, usually a "Known" brand would be a recommended choice. However there are some perfectly good lesser known tyre brands, but it can be a bot of a gamble. It might be that the performance level of both tyres could be similar but the cheaper one may be slightly noisier on the road.
