Hi there
I will be away for 13 weeks and will have my car left in a covered parking garage. It is a 2010 Honda Fit. I want to know if disconnecting my battery terminals and leaving my car un-driven and stationary for that period of time is safe for the vehicle and will not cause any mechanical problems when I return, or if I am better off not disconnecting the terminals and getting a friend to do a short drive around the block with the vehicle every 2-3weeks.

Hi there,
Ultimately it's better for the car if you have someone who can run the engine for 15-30 minutes every few weeks. This will make sure that the cooling and fuel system is maintained and the electrical memories are not lost (if the battery was disconnected or flat)

Ok, thank you this is very helpful. Can you please confirm that i should leave the battery connected then. I can get someone to drive the vehicle every 3 weeks, would this time period be ok or is it too long between trips?

Hi there,
Yes in this case it would be better to leave the battery connected and have someone dive the vehicle in order to maintain battery charge.
