Hi,
I need to get some rust repairs on the chassis of my Mazda Demio (2006) to pass a WOF.
For the rust repairs, do I need any records to certify the repairs? If so, what kind of records are needed (e.g. compliance statement and/or photos of the repair work, etc)?

Hi there,
If the wof failed, repairs were made, then wof passed- this is all that is required. There is no other certification required.

Thanks.
The WOF passed, but there was a warning on the WOF that the chassis rust needs attention, which I think means it will fail next time if nothing is done.
The next WOF is due next year, but I want to do the rust repair asap, since it will get worst leaving it longer, and then probably cost more to repair.
Therefore, if I get the chassis rust repaired now (cut out with new piece fabricated and welded in), do I need any compliance certificates or records to prove the safety of the repairs for the next WOF?

I would make sure that the repair was undertaken by a proficient company and retain the documents as proof of repair and who carried it out. There is no requirement for certification of the repair.

OK. Thanks
