I am looking at purchasing a 2009 VW Golf TSI second hand with 142,000ks and would be interested in any advice you may have to offer on maintenance costs and any known issues with this type of car please? I'm also unsure if it has a chain or cambelt? It's suitable to be my first car? Thanks

Hi there,
The upside of a European vehicle is that they are safe, and generally drive very nicely. The downside is that as they do cost more to maintain and service than similar non-European vehicles. If they have not been looked after, engine and transmissions could be problematic, so careful inspection is recommended.

Thx for answer this question. I wanna ask how about Nissan skyline 250GT 2007 this car?

I think the transmission might be the weak point on these ones, it might be best to speak to a transmission specialist to double check for this one.
