Hello

I had the Centre Bearing in my 03 XR6 replaced in 2015 and it has started to become noisy. It is out of its 12 month warranty but I have only done 12000 odd km since it was replaced. I would have thought a Centre Bearing would last a lot longer. Do you think I would have any recourse under the consumer guarantees act or am I going to have to foot the bill?

Any help would be appreciated.

The CGA might extend to this, but it may only be decided in a tribunal if the company doesn't agree that it is unreasonable to have the repair only last 12,000kms. There would be a few factors at play to consider, like what was said when the repair was carried out, and were new parts used. You may need a second opinion as to the exact cause of the problem and then decide what to do from there.
