My car is an subaru impreza 2006 with only 73,000km on the clock. I just put it in for a service and the mechanic noticed that both front inner CV boots are cracked and need replaced. They have quoted me $400 plus gst to do them so two questions. Is this price reasonable and at 73,000km I am having these issues, should I be concerned/ is it normal for these to need to be done with this milage?

Hi there,
The cracking rubber is potentially more to do with age (12 years old) than km's travelled. So this issue could be considered normal for a 12 year old vehicle and is fairly common practice for a Subaru at some stage in its life. I would expect this job to cost between $300-$400.
