Considering buying this car and wanted to hear your thoughts. Are there any particular issues to be aware of and would it make sense to get a 3 year mechanical insurance to go with it?

Hi there,
I have heard that the transmission can be a weak point on these cars and so I recommend a thorough inspection of its operating condition and maybe talking to a transmission specialist before purchase.
Mechanical insurance is a personal decision and like any insurance you may or may not ever need it. The question is will the money saved by not having it, cover any potential repair costs?

Thanks Cade. That is helpful.
Sticking with Nissan would the Bluebird be a much safer bet? I know its not a sports car with the same style or power but for everyday city use would u suggest going with this one instead?

Hi there,
Again this depends on transmission type you prefer, most small Nissans (Bluebird, Sylphy, and Tiida) around this year will have a 1-speed CVT transmission. There are a lot out there and not all give trouble or have complaints, but it's something that needs checking out thoroughly and servicing.
