Hello,

I have recently been dealing with a dispute over a rental property where cars that had passed their WOFs leaked small amounts of oil onto the driveway. Please can you advise if oil leaks are checked for as part of the WOF process or of it would be possible for a car that is of warrantable standard to leak oil?

Thanks

Hi there,
Oil leaks in general don't usually fail a wof (unless it presents a safety hazard), but it's more about what the oil is leaking onto that can constitute a fail. If a particular safety component is damaged or affected as a result of the oil contamination. So it is possible for a vehicle to have a wof and be leaking a small amount of oil.
