Do you know if this model has a cambelt or cam chain? And anything to be wary of in this model (looking to buy for student son so mostly looking for reliability and cheap to run). Thanks

This vehicle is also known as the Daihatsu Sirion, they seem to be a pretty reliable little car.
As it is a Japanese import, information is a little difficult to obtain. The 1.3ltr K3-VE engine is driven by cam chain.
It's quite possibly seen as a modern version of the old Toyota starlet.

It is a 1.3 ltr but how would I know if it's a K3-VE engine, or are all toyota 1.3ltr duets that type of engine?
Also, what do you mean by it being known as a Daihatsu Sirion? How does that work? (excuse my complete ignorance...). Are all daihatsu's equal to toyota's???
