Is it true that cambelts are to be replaced every 10 years?

Hi there,
Every vehicle manufacturer has their own cambelt replacement schedule based on a time or km interval. This is also unique to the engine type fitted to the vehicle.
However according to most vehicle specs I can see for the European year 2000 Fiesta, lists replacement at 150,000km or 120 months (10 years). If in doubt consult a Ford dealer.
