Any advise please on good quality tyres and how to avoid being over charged for poor tyres ? I need new tyres for my Outlander so i know they are not cheep as they are 18inch.

We are happy to recommend Bridgestone/ Firestone tyres - But you are generally in good hands if you stick to a known brand in NZ. Like Goodyear, Kumho, Yokohama ect.
They all have a wide range of tyre types and prices for most sizes.
