Hi there I'm looking at buying a 08 or 09 golf wagon TSi with between 80k-100k kms on the clock and I'm just wondering about any issues with these? I've seen some notes about the DSG gearboxs crapping out, and don't want to be buying something that is going to be costing a fortune to maintain. Many thanks Tony

Hi there,
As with any used vehicle, longevity can often be attributed to how the vehicle has been treated and serviced. DSG gearboxes are no exception, it would be a case of making sure the one you look at drives well before purchase and has been regularly serviced. It is true that there has been some problems and they can cost a lot to fix, but you get a car with very good handling and super quick gear changes which is often the European car trade-off.
