We have a Nissan X Trail with the 2.5L petrol engine and are considering buying a small caravan that has hydraulic brakes. We believe the Nissan is rated to tow around 1500kg braked. Do you consider the vehicle is adequate given other considerations such as power and weight?

The Nissan Xtrail looks to have a braked tow capacity of around 2,000kg and should be suited to tow most small braked caravans up to this weight.
The only downside is that the CVT transmission reliability may be compromised if heavier loads are towed for great lengths.
