I just received pre-purchase inspection report on 2006 Toyota Mark X from you Sydenham office.
I spoke with your mechanic Stephen who was super helpful. He noted written and verbally that the: Tyres Wheels and Hubs
Hub Right Hand Rear Seal: Oil Leak; Wet, Should be investigated

This is apparently where the transmission meets the rear axel ....

Is this a big project to repair ? What would be very rough cost ? I am think that dealer will do this or must do this but then I would need to have it checked again to be sure that it is truly repaired properly.

Thank you.

Hi there,
This type of note could mean that an axle seal (diff end) is weeping fluid and is usually a fairly easy fix. Or a CV boot (outer wheel end) is leaking grease which is also not a huge job.
I would ask the dealer to attend to this as part of the sale agreement .
There is the opportunity to pay for and obtain a recheck for the inspection after the repairs are carried out, or alternatively take it to a local garage for a second opinion.
