I'm looking at buying a very recent model Subaru Forester 2.5i (NZ new, not an import) which still has time to run on its 3-year warranty, which I'm guessing will cover any initial teething problems. I have heard these cars can have quirks and issues from time to time, as does any car, but would you be able to give me ball park figure of what I can expect to pay as far as routine service checks go on an annual basis? And are there any pitfalls or service issues I should be aware of?

Hi there,
Generally these vehicles are very good, Subaru used to have simple services with 50k being a larger service requirement. These vehicles don't really cost anymore to service than the average. However for detailed service costs it may be best to look at an AA Auto Centre menu or the manufactures "Job Kit" pricing.
