At certain speeds on slow acceleration a shuddering occurs, If indeed it is a transmission issue I presume a replacement transmission is required. This would be expensive. Also needing to be worked on are the brakes (machine the discs, new pads, wheel balancing etc)
I think the repair bill would be about what the car is valued at. Is it worth proceeding or should I just sell the car as is and put the money towards a newer model?

A shudder could be any number of other inexpensive items, before jumping the gun have a professional look at the vehicle to diagnose the fault at least then you will be able to combine the cost's of both faults and judge if its better to fix or replace the vehicle.
