We had a service done on a Mazda Familia last month with AA and they detected no Engine Mount issues. Now on trying to get a WOF at a different location (not AA). They are saying we need to replace both the front and back engine mount. We have never been to them before so don't know how trustworthy they are and if it is realistic that this has become an issue only one month after seeing the AA or if simply the engine mount is not something that is checked during a service but rather a WoF test. Overall I would just like to know if the Engine Mount is usually checked during a service?

Hi there,
Engine mounts are not specifically targeted during a menu service, a service technician may have a bit of a look around to make sure there are no glaringly obvious faults to mention when carrying out a service. If it was not seen at the time of service then it would not get mentioned. As part of a wof inspection all the mounts get checked for play and the bushing condition inspected, I suspect this is where it would get noticed the most.
It may be that you might need a second opinion if you suspect the mounts would not fail a wof.
