I noted recently my hand brake light keeps on (red) even after the hand brake is released, specifically when it is cold outside. It will turn off when I drive for a while. What is the problem? what should I do?

Hi there,
It sounds like the brake fluid level might be a bit low, or the float sticking. Otherwise there could be something intermittently fouling with the handbrake light switch.
