My car is a Japanese import and has a dash alarm upon start of engine which disappears after 30 secs. Is the any way of deciphering alarm?

You could try the local dealer and see if they recognize it, or if it is an audible warning in Japanese use Google translate to decipher the message with the use of a smart phone.
