Hi, the AA inspection on a 2009 Hyundai Tucson that I'm looking to purchase shows a steering oil leak. Can anyone provide some guidance on this. What are the possible issues/causes/costs involved. Would it be wise to negotiate a cheaper price and still purchase the car? That would depend on the cost of repairs, which I have no idea about.

Hi there,
The cause/ location of the leak will need investigating by a workshop who can then quote on cost of repairs. It could be anything from a hose to pump or rack rebuild or replacement and could cost a few thousand worst case scenario. Once you find out the cost to repair you could negotiate this with the seller to lower the price or repair before sale.
