Hi,
While servicing my car a mechanic snapped off the bonnet release lever of my car. Just wondering what happens in this situation: should i have to pay for the replacement part, or should the mechanic replace the part for free?

Hi there,
Generally if a mechanic breaks something in the course of the job, they are responsible to repair it, however there are conditions. If the usage was deemed acceptable for the vehicle and something broke, then there may be discussions on a resolution.
For example if an electric window was wound down and the glass fell off the channel, this could be deemed a vehicle characteristic and not misuse by the technician.
