Hi all.
Does anyone have advice on this? I brought and immaculate new import Mazda Axela 2009 from Japan through a local dealer here. I’ve since realized there is a known issue with these cars and the dash turn into a shiny sticky tar light substance that reflects bright sunlife in my face while driving. I don’t believe this is the dealers fault as it looked sort of like a slightly dated dash at first.
In the USA Mazda has been made to replace them but it appears no where else has. And because mine is an import Mazda New Zealand won’t do anything. No idea if I can somehow harass someone in Mazda japan to sort it. John Andew Mazda said no and quoted me nearly $4000 to replace it.

Any ideas about how I could get this sorted?

Thanks for your time

Hi there,
I've not heard of this situation before, but unfortunately with imports there is little assistance, unless the fault has occurred within a short time of ownership and you seek repair under the CGA (consumer guarantees act).
You might also want to try a dash repair service and see if there is anything they can do?

Thanks mate. I’ll look into that.
I’m surprised you haven’t heard of it, it appears it’s universal to Mazda’s of 2009 and 2010. But also Toyota, Lexus etc have had similar problems :-)
Thanks for your help
