I recently bumped my left front tyre to a kerb and have caused scratches to my mags and damage to tyre sidewall. The tyre sidewall damage is about 3 to 4 cm long and shown peeling off. What are the indications that I need to replace the left tyre or how can I check if it is safe still for long driving?

Hi there,
It would be best to call into the nearest tyre shop and ask their opinion, and maybe a second opinion to back it up if they tell you it needs replacement.

Hey Cade, can this be checked as part of AA safety check?

It can be, as part of the AA Safety Check the tyre condition and tread depth should be checked, you can also ask the centre to look closely at the damage and give their advice.
