Hi,

I have a 1999 Subaru Legacy Brighton (automatic) that's up to about 215,000 kms.

I think there may be oil leaking in the spark wells. I was driving along the motorway and as I got to normal revs to speed up when getting on the motorway the car shuddered like mad and the check engine light came on until the revs went down.

I think it's a misfire issue... But not sure if this is the case.

How much could it cost to get a computer diagnosis? Also, could there be other problems causing it?

Hi there,
Some Subaru engines can suffer from oil or water contamination getting down past the HT leads and cause a misfire.
However it could also be coils, leads or worn sparkplug related.
You will have to call the garage you wish to use as to what a diagnostic check is worth, which will allow them to see what the fault code is and then check the vehicle for faults.

Cade,I disagree, Seems to be a common problem...http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/89984-oil-in-spark-plug-hole/
