I bought a Toyota Allex (2004 model) in March from a dealer. The car has only done 60,000km.

In the past few weeks I have noticed a build-up of condensation in the right front headlight - enough that the water has pooled slightly in the lower corner of the housing.

i have tried driving with the lights on and keeping the car parked facing the sun in the daytime to see if it will evaporate and escape somehow but it has not improved.

I have spoken to the dealer I bought the car from. They don't think this falls under their 1 month warranty. I think it should still be their issue under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

Do you have any advice on this issue? I understand condensation build-up in headlights is a warrantable issue and if I were to go for one today it would fail based on this.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi there,
A vehicle fault that will fail a wof, would definitely require a remedy and this one the dealer should carryout with no charge to you. While the moisture can be dried with compressed air or heat gun, the cause of the moisture is the problem.
The vehicle is not free from defect, and this is a requirement under the CGA. A vehicle should be fit for purpose (driving in the rain without headlight filling with water)
