Hi I have purchased a 2003 vitz recently and it has done 108,000kms, I have service history but am unsure if it is cambelt or chain driven? Do you know what a 2003 vitz has? Or how I can tell? Thanks

The specs I can see for the 1.0 and 1.3 NZ-FE engines show that they are equipped with timing chains. If in doubt, have your local workshop confirm, the side of the engine where the fan belts are located will usually be covered by an aluminium cover with a chain behind it. Cam belts usually have a plastic cover on the side of the engine, to allow for easier belt replacement.
