Hello,
My wife owns a 2012 NZ new Ford Focus that has been serviced as per owners manual by the local Ford Dealer with the manufacturers recommended coolant changes . It's now about to have its third twin clutch transmission installed under warranty due to excessive shuddering. however I now have reason to ask how long should a heater core last?

Like most general use non high wear vehicle components you would expect it not to leak for the life of the vehicle or at least 10-15 years, my 00 Audi needed a heater core replacement in 2013 but could never be sure how the cooling system was treated before me.
