Hi there

I am looking recommendations for a small - mid sized SUV. I originally liked the size and shape of the Dualis but have been warned to avoid CVT and that Nissan is known to have issues with theirs. I would love recommendations on a few options, what I am after is:

Small/mid sized for reasonable parking
Not overly expensive to run
Under 90k ks
Around 15k
Good for road trips
Safety

An example of the shapes of cars I like would be Dualis, Holden Captiva, Holden Trax, CX5, Ford Kuga etc.

Any suggestions on makes/models I should consider or any that I should avoid would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi there,
My top pick would be the Mazda CX5, as the older Holden Trax were not very exciting, the Captiva was not very reliable, Dualis has a CVT but not sure that these ones were a problem as the other cvt's were (a trans specialist might need to confirm). Ford Kuga I'm not sure about but I haven't heard bad reports about them as yet.
The Hyundai ix35 might be another option to look into?.

Could you please elaborate on the Captiva, I am currently looking at 2010 Holden Captiva (5 seater) and would like to know what to look out for

Hi there,
There is not really specifics to mention, we've just had a lot of complaints through our services (and from a few friends who had them) from people who have regretted buying them or just had a bad experience. Transmission and engine problems were commonly mentioned.
The new ones seem much better and Holden are doing a lot to assist customers if their product should fail prematurely.
