Hello. We're looking at buying a Nissan Tiida 2005 1.8L Luxury Edition. It drives well, is in good superficial condition and has 93k on the clock. I have done a bit of reading on it and came across a few articles about the reliability of CVTs in early model Nissans. Are you able to shed any light on this? Should we run in the other direction?

Hi there,
While there are lots of these vehicles out there, the Nissan CVT has been widely commented on having issues. They may not all give problem, but is definitely an area to look into, and be aware of. If in doubt, consult a transmission specialist on the costs and frequency of repairs (and then run) :-)
