Hi there,
I am looking at purchasing a 2006 Toyota Caldina 1800 with 86,000kms (import) but am wondering if I should be looking at a lower mileage vehicle. I still plan to get an AA Inspection on whatever vehicle I decide on but wanted to get some feedback on the mileage question. Thanks

Hi there,
As the vehicle is 11 years old you would expect at least 110-150km on the clock if it travelled an average of 10,000-14,000km a year.
So 86k would be considered good km's for this age of vehicle.
You may want to make sure that the cam belt has been replaced or replace it soon after purchase as they are due at 100,000km or ten years.

Thanks for that,
I thought that the Caldina had a 'chain driven' cambelt same as the Fielder?
May have to rethink my choice if that is the case as would prefer a chain driven can belt.

Sorry, you're right the later Caldina has a 1.8 1ZZFE engine and is chain driven, so no cam belt to replace.
