Is Mitsubishi Colt 2004 and Toyota Porte 2004 a good car to buy (in term of technical specs and safety)? Would there be any potential transmission problem? Is it good for travelling around NZ? Are the parts widely available in Christchurch and are they expensive for these two models?

Our pick of the two would be the Toyota Porte', it comes in 1.3 and 1.5ltr engine form with a conventional transmission. These cars are not known to give many issues and are based on the Toyota Vitz platform.
As the vehicle is an import, specs and parts availability are a bit of an unknown.
The same with safety, it should have airbags and ABS brakes as a minimum requirement.
