Hello,
I'm looking at a number of Mazda Demio's in the age and mileage in the subject line.
I see in most of your postings that you recommend them. Is there anything that I should be weary of? My main worry is the automatic.
I'm looking at buying one from a dealer. They advertise that they are a AA Approved/Appraised Dealer. What does this mean? Do they have to meet certain criteria to attain this? As an AA member myself, does this provide me more protection in any way?
They also say the cars have an "AA Appraised Inspection", is this as extensive as your AA Vehicle Inspection?
Does the car come with a warranty as I'm buying it from a dealer and if so how long is it for?
As it's a car dealer and they are a fresh import, would there be any reason to purchase a AA History Report?
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Gary
Hi Gary,
We are not aware of many problems with the Mazda range of late, they seem to be reliable and popular vehicles.
An AA appraised dealer is a dealer we have vetted and our inspectors are happy to inspect and appraise their vehicles. An appraisal is a dealer-only inspection and a small snapshot into the vehicle condition, designed to inform the dealer before they put the vehicle up for sale. It does not take the place of the "customer purchased" pre purchase inspection, which gives a full overview of the vehicle condition used by the customer to make a buying decision. http://www.aa.co.nz/cars/buy-sell/pre-purchase-vehicle-inspections
As the car is imported and has not been used on NZ roads yet, you will not be able to obtain a history report, the history starts when the vehicle has been registered and used on the road in NZ.
Any dealer warranty will be exclusive to the individual dealer and their policy, so Is something to ask them about.
