HI there. We need to purchase a second hand vehicle, for family use (4 people) driving on windy country roads, 50km round trip to town. Needs to be AWD/4WD for potential ice/snow and probably diesel, although fuel efficiency most important. We are looking at a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, having previously had a Toyota HIghlander which got stolen !

Hi there,
I've not heard anything bad about the Laredo.
Mazda CX-5 still seems to tick all the boxes and is a very popular option. Kia Sportage, Hyundai ix35/ Tucson, and Nissan X-trail are also good options. How about a VW Tiguan?, they are very capable SUV's.

We have looked at these and would prefer more boot space. Any thoughts on a larger SUV?

Hi there,
Maybe a Hyundai SantaFe, BMW X5, Toyota Highlander, New Mazda CX9, Mitsubishi Outlander? There are less familiar SUV's like the Jeep, LandRover and Ford Territory options.
