Hi there! The right tail light of our car was broken by an unknown person. We have been trying to replace it, but it has been painful, the part is not here in NZ. We put red tape, and it was a great job, because the issue is not visible. However, the WOF will expire next month, sooo, my question is if getting the new WOF will be a problem with that light with red tape. Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

Hi there,
You may need to somehow glue plastic over the hole and change the bulb to a red one if possible, as the taillight must 1/ not emit a white light and 2/ must be water/ weather proof.
Wof failure reasons are listed below:
1. A lamp is insecure or, if a mandatory lamp, contains moisture in the form of large droplets, runs or puddles.
2. A lens is missing, or has a hole, crack or other damage that allows moisture or dirt to enter.
3. A lamp’s reflector is damaged or has deteriorated so that light output is reduced.
Ultimately the lens will require replacement.
