I would like to buy a small car. Late model say 2013 to 2016 under 30,000kms and under $20,000. What do you recommend. I have been told I should avoid Holden Barinas as they are made in Korea not Japan

I wouldn't really pay too much attention to where they are made, a lot of new cars are made in various different countries now, Korea, Thailand, Spain, Japan, Germany, Mexico ect. It doesn't necessarily reflect on the quality of the vehicle like some would think.
You could pretty much get a brand new Holden Spark, they are a fantastic little car. Or look a near new Suzuki Swift, Toyota Yaris, Honda Jazz and Mazda 2.
