I need a new used car but decisions....!
I drive a lot so I put a lot of kms on my cars quickly. Mostly I drive short distances, through Auckland traffic so there is a combo of slow, fast, stop-start.
I need economy and reliability - reliability is very important for my job.
It is mostly just me in the car or me and 1 passenger so leg room in the back is not essential although sometimes I will take my tall teenagers out - though usually that happens in the family car. It is helpful to have a car where the back seats fold back and you can put long things in it from time to time, so sedan shape I am less keen on but it is not a deal breaker as we have another car that does that.
I have had good experiences with Toyota Corolla with 1.5L engines to date, so I started there with my Trade Me searching but I am worried. I am reading things about CVT or conventional automatic and I am not sure if the models I am looking at have issues, if I should be looking at something else... budget is about $7,000. I am in Auckland.

Toyota Corolla RUNX 2006 - 44,000 kms $7,500

Toyota Corolla FIELDER 2005 - 44,000 kms $7,500
(When I typed in my specs to Trade Me, RUNX and FIELDER where what came up, I was not specifically looking for them.)
Should I go for one of these? (Assuming it passes a pre-inspection check)
If so, which?
Should I look at something else?
Ist, Raum and Ractis all seem to be cheaper, later model and yet equally low kms to the above. Should I look at them?

Toyota Corolla FIELDER 2005 - 44,000 kms $7,500
*It looks like in 2005 the both appear to have regular automatic transmission's
* They have good length for the occasional long things
** They are reliable and low mileage and come in both 1.8 and 1.5 liter variety's.
