We are considering putting an offer in on this car which is for sale on TradeMe for $2,495
The details provided are:
62,000km, Sedan, 2000cc petrol engine, automatic
Comes with original Telstar alloys plus period Ford alloys.
There is no electric this or that, no power steering, this is a real car!!
Engine runs super well and very quiet
My son has test-driven the car and likes it very much.
My concern is that with a car this old we could end up having to spend money on having it repaired, and that repairs will be expensive as parts etc. will be difficult to source.
Are you able to provide any general advice as to whether this is a risky purchase or not?
Many thanks

Hi there,
This is true, the only source of parts would be if any were still lying around on a shop shelf somewhere or if a wrecker still had a car buried at the back of the yard.
As the car has hardly been used, once it starts getting used, some parts may start to show and you may be chasing repairs.
The AA recommends buying the safest car within your budget, a car without anything electrical/ ABS, Airbags ect, would not be our safe pick for you.
