Hi. I have a Nissan Tino 2000, done 118000km. I have had this great car for 9 years, but feel it is about time to get something younger with a few less kilometers. However looking around there does not seem to be anything to replace it with. Best feature with the Tino is the high seating position and so easy to get in and out of, an easy access boot, and although very roomy not too big a 'truck.'

Do you know of any similar vehicle with high sitting position around the 1.6L to 2.0L range, without being as large as a Toyota RAV4 or Honda CRV etc? I might be expecting too much!

The only vehicle that readily springs to mind is the Suzuki SX4. It is smaller than the Toyota’s and Honda’s you mention but does provide a reasonably high seating position and good usable interior space. It fits into your engine size preference as well. A very good reliable vehicle.

I would also have a look at Toyota’s Signature range of cars. There is a vehicle badged IST which may appeal.

Then there is always the good old trusty 1.8 litre Toyota Corolla. The 1.5 litre Honda Jazz is another vehicle which may be worth a look if you are prepared to drop in engine size.
