Hi. I am thinking of buying a mazda atenza 2.5 L 2009 with 82000km. I do high mileage therefore fuel economy is an important consideration. I would travel approximately 600 km a week to and from work. I wonder if i would be better looking for a 2L mazda atenza? The car salesman said that 2.5 L motor is better because of the body size of the car. What would you recommend?

I have investigated the difference in fuel economy with the equivalent Mazda 6 model sold in New Zealand.
The difference between the two engines is small the combined fuel economy states...
The 2 liter engine at 8.5 per 100km and 8.8 liters per 100km for the 2.5l engine.
( manufacture combined figures)

0.3 of a liter difference is negligible and you may want the extra horses for open road driving

What octane rating is the correct one for the 2.5l?
