I am looking at 3 used cars - Toyota Vitz F 2010, Mazda Demio 2011 and Honda Fit G 2010. I am concern about CVT automatic transmission as I suspected that both Toyota Vitz and Honda Fit may have CVT.

Could you advise me which car is better among the 3 given above? Can I tell from the gear box indicator which car has CVT transmission?

Thank you.

Hi there,
The Toyota Vitz looks to have a CVT, the car looks to be a reliable popular choice and I'm not aware of any common issues they have.
The Mazda has a conventional transmission and is also a very good choice, popular and reliable.
The Honda Fit, has a CVT and have received some shuddering complaints regarding the transmission, but it is said that an additive along with a (genuine) fluid change can cure the shudder. But if any more repairs are needed, the costs can be significantly high. But the car as a whole is brilliant and reasonably priced.
