Im looking at 2 Nissan Xtrail - one is 2013 and done 113,000km manual petrol the other is 2012 diesel, auto and done 150,000km....both are high mileage. both have service history...is one better than the other or should i look for one older with lower mileage...I anticipate keeping the car for some time and generally do around 15000km per year.

Providing regular servicing has been carried out as evidenced in the service history, there should be no problem with high mileage with either of these vehicles. The X-trail has a name a being a pretty reliable vehicle.
