I would like to buy a SUV (prefer a second hand TOYOTA rav4 4WD), please need you advice and a retailer in Auckland area who is accepted by AA.

I also recommend getting an AA Pre Purchase inspection when you do find a vehicle you are interested in.
Toyota Rav's generally have a good name, some had electrical issues with their transmissions around 2012. But I would recommend double checking with a Transmission specialist in this one.

Thanks a lot for your advice, What is the next option of a SUV that could be used for outdoors. Also how to organise a AA pre-purchase inspection who would also check the transmission.

It would really depend on what year of vehicle you are looking into buying.
There are some Suzuki Vitara, Subaru Forester, or Mitsubishi Pajero. Most modern AWD SUV's are pretty capable of some small off-road driving to a degree.
A PPI, would not specifically cover the transmission check in depth, they will only check the operation on the road test and inform if they suspect the operation was not very good. Which is to point you in the direction for further inspection from a workshop or transmission specialist who would be able to specifically check the transmission.
