Hi. I am looking at purchasing a car that has recently been re registered.
Is it possible to get a copy of the VIN inspection report?
Should the seller have a copy of this available for inspection?
What do these reports cover?
I assume they are more detailed that a std WOF Inspection report.

Thank you

The VIN report will be between the compliance center and the person who purchased the compliance because of the privacy act.
There are a few reasons why a vehicle may be re-registered,
Its registration may have lapsed, or it could have been written off . its important for the seller to be upfront with you so you know what you are purchasing.

If the seller has re-registered the vehicle they will have access to all documents regarding the re-registration.

Thank you.

The seller has been upfront, the registration simply lapsed and has only just been re-registered.
I guess in hindsight I had thought if I had a copy of the VIN report I would not need to get a Vehicle Inspection done. So if the seller cannot/will not produce the report I will simply do what I always do and get a Vehicle Inspection done anyway.

Can you send me a blank VIN report just so I can see what is involved?
